THE KITE CLUB
Iraklio Kite Club is the first and
the only KiteBoarding station of Iraklion since 2015
with a sandy beach of more than 2000m2
dedicated only to Kite and now
to WingFoil and WindSurf as well.
Located on the windiest beach around
hassle-free of sunbathers and swimmers
we are proud of being the first IKO
affiliated kite spot in Crete licensed
by the local authorities and certified
by the Hellenic Coast Guard.
In our spot you will always find a place
to relax after or between your sessions,
a shower, fresh water for rinsing your
equipment and racks to let them dry.
Location:
14 min drive from Heraklion Airport
and 4 kmh from Heraklion city center.

Getting there:
Navigate yourselves to
“Heraklion Municipal Swimming Center”
and then follow the main road to the West.
There is a sign of the club
after 500m on your right.

THE SPOT
This spot is ideal for all levels of
riders according to the current conditions.
Sometimes when wavy you can even ride
a couple of waves.
In the summer the wind is moderate
and the swell is small or inexistent.
Wave lovers will enjoy it more
in the winter months as the swell is
usually bigger with stronger winds.
Skill level required:
Mostly from beginners to intermediate.
When wavy for experienced riders only.
Best Wind:
June, July, August. The rest of the year
there is wind but with less probability.
Wind Speed:
Summer 10-25 knots with an average of
18 knots. Winter 15-40 Knots
Water Condition:
Choppy when windy with small to medium waves.
Water wear:
In summer time a boardshorts and
a rashguard for sunprotection is enough.
If you plan to spent many hours in the
water a spring wetsuit is always handy.
